Intelligent Ecological Cultivation: Tools and Techniques for Sustainable Garden Design (AI technology) | Knowledge College Session
Learn about how artificial intelligence software could be used by landscapers and gardeners, now and in the near future.
Session Leaders will present work in modeling native plant habitats based on historical datasets; new web and mobile apps powered by geographic and visual A.I. for automatic microclimate and climate analysis, to assist with species selection and placement; chatbots for answering gardening questions; digital twins for modeling and design of gardens; augmented and virtual reality, and custom image-generating A.I., for visualizations of planting designs and landscapes; recommendation systems that give expert advice on plant selection, placement, and maintenance; and a review from a practicing landscape architect on all of this technology, including thoughts on its strengths, weaknesses, problems, and opportunities, grounded by years of garden design experience, and an optimistic view of the future.
This session will start with individual presentations and lead into a panel discussion, possibly with time for audience Q&A.
